There have been number of threads recently about cracked rotors. I was at CMP today. A few minutes in the pits after a longer session, I heard a metal plinking sound from my left front wheel. I was afraid my rotor had cracked, but it was actually my wheel weights falling off. I guess the adhesive couldn't handle the heat?

All the wheel weights on both front wheels feel off.

 

Look around in the pits. Wheel weights are everywhere.

 

Get your tire guy to put tape over your weights - problem solved.

 

 

Were you the guy at CMP today in white/tan S2000 that kept getting black flagged for going too slow?

It was a good day to be there, had one session all to myself.

 

BTW... Did you ever get your retainers done? I think I'm going to start on mine tomorrow.

 

You are right I need to get the S out to the track more, only 6 days on track with it this year. In my defense though I did drive a bunch of Skip Barber days and even went to rally school.

No havent touched the retainers yet, just finishing up the garage. Installing lights this weekend and air in the next couple of weeks. Will get to work on the S when the dust settles.
