Default Thunderhill or Laguna?

Decisions decisions...I might have to choose. I've never been to either venue so if you had to pick one, which would it be and why?

I'm new here so pardon my question, but how much track experience do you have? Personally I'm not comfortable taking my only car to a place like Laguna Seca where there are walls and tire barriers everywhere. I average one off per track day. So I like to go to places like Thunderhill, Buttonwillow, and Willow Springs where there is only one wall to worry about - the pit wall.

That's a good question. I've got a fair bit of it but not in this car. I had one pretty hellacious off at BW last week...if there was a wall there, it would have collected me. The only thing in my favor is I'm slow

It's a tough call. Laguna Seca is more famous and is an awesome track. T-hill is awesome in it's own right. Laguna IS more dangerous because of walls and such. I believe that Laguna is more expensive to run so if this is a financial decision, all things being equal T-hill will probably cost less.

Laguna has more walls and costs more. The corkscrew is fun, along with the couple coners before and after. The rest is just ok imo.

thill is faster, safer and more challenging and is -my- favoriate track on the west coast.

BryanH: If you're spining 1x every track day you're driving over your head. Not driving over your head is the simplest solution to not balling up your car.

Thill is BW but with serious elevation and a better layed out course.

Really you need to do both. Then make up your mind. They're both amazing courses.

I guess I'll have to do both but maybe not within 2 weeks of each other this time around. Any *crack* word on more bars?

I think you said it best, it's Laguna. I've done both, and it's a close call, but the corkscrew/turn 9 and elevation changes at LS are great.

Don't forget Infineon too. You have to do all three at least once each (and hope your car survives to complete them )
