Thunderhill or Laguna?
I prefer Laguna. Thunderhill is great in that you can go off safely in lot of places and worry about little more than decapitating a gopher. No such luxuries at Laguna, especially in the winter/spring months, when the suspension-bending drainage ditches are uncovered.
Still, Thunderhill just seems like it's trying too hard to make mountains out of its molehills. Like the designers looked at every little crest in the terrain and thought "oooh let's make a corner here". I prefer running TH backwards - turn 1 onto the main straight being its best element.
The corkscrew at Laguna is fun - I aim a little right of the oak tree, and shoot down under full throttle - last time there the back would get light enough to spin both Hoosiers. But in my mind, the next turn, 9, requires greater focus and determination to do right, and is more important to laptimes.
Laguna is also much more scenic, right near one of my favorite towns (Monterey), and has decades of racing history on its surface.

Go w/ the T.I.T.S. Organization to Laguna Seca in Feb 2004. We got 60 S2000's already. Lets add a few more and close out the track for ourselves.
Go to Southern California fourms for more details!
