well its kinda a tricky question... from what i understand if you wanted to run a 285 tire you would prob want a 10" wide rim... and givin the tricky offset of the car, finding 10" wide rims that will work is very difficult and exspensive. not to mention that you would have to prob run a large amount of negative camber, which would actually decrease your contact patch.

how come you want such large tires anyway? my suggestion would be to run 225 / 255 on your stock ap2 rims...

Should I do that with a softer compound?

What are you planning to do? Do you intend to track the car?

Then you will want a softer compound.

I saw a guy around here with 285's all the way around but I have no clue what he did to run that width.

Why not start with a 225 255?
