Toasted engine
I would appreciate any feedback on this issue. My wife and I run the registration for the Chin Motorsports events and were at the AMS event this weekend. Prior to the event her 2001 S2K was teched at a local high performance shop. The car had 5K miles on it so they opted to leave the break in oil in (think it is good til 6 or 7K miles). The car was on the track for the parade laps and I did probably 3 laps at 60% of the cars potential. The engine shutdown and started making a tapping noise. The car was later towed to Gwinnet Honda. They are stating that the car has no oil in it and they are not going to warranty the engine. The car had oil (full and clear) when we left Orlando, 600 miles later the car has none and no evidence of leaks or spills. Looking for guidance?????

You may want to repost this in "Under the Hood" or "S2000 Talk". Not a lot of people read this racing and comp forum.
At first blush it sounds like the #4 cylinder failure. You'll want to search the board for references to it. It's a rare problem, but I believe Honda has fully covered all incidences of it.
