This past weekend I took the S to the drag strip. I know that the S is meant to be on the track instead of the strip but I've been itching to go see if I could really drive my car. I really don't get an opportunity to push it driving to work. Well my first run was 15.0 sec flat. Not bad for my first run. The second 14.7 and the third was 14.5 sec. My reaction time sucked!! One of the runs was 1.255 sec reaction time. Definitely something I need to improve. I felt as if i was the center of attention because I was the only girl racing. Everytime I'd go pick up my time slip, there would be a group of guys that would run to the fence to take a peek. My man raced the S too and his best time was 14.3 sec. In fact the announcer thought that the S was his car. There was a Firebird that called the S out. The driver in the firebird said I'll even let your girlfriend race me. One of my friends mentioned "It's hers!" The announcer was surprised and said that I was one mean girl who definitely know how to drive her car!! In this case mean is cool!!

Glad you had a good time! Now you've got to come and try out a local autocross. The National Championships are soon, so there is not too much going on locally, but there will be in the month of September... check these links for schedules and results:

I've got a ProSolo coming up this weekend in Peru, Indiana, so I've got to be on top of the reaction times. Anything over 1.000 means that run gets disqualified. We run the club tree at .500, and I usually get .550-.620. Staging right is very important.
For more on ProSolo, check out:

Anyhow, those are the higher ranks... check out the above links for the local autocross scene. Your Stook will be much happier there than at the strip.

just wanna make sure you know that your reaction time doent reflect on your 1/4 ET you can sit on the line for 1 minute and still run a 14.4, dont worry thou i had past experience drag racing my GS-T and the first time i took my SC'd S2k out to the track i ran a 14.7 i fishtailed halfway down the 1/8th, but the 5th run i had a 13.4@106 but my clutch was slipping

When I had my '94 RX-7tt, I ran it at the drags a couple times. The first time I was there, I put my Gtech in the car the same time I made my passes to see how closely they agreed. The Gtech consistently read 0.1 to 0.2 sec quicker in the 1/4.
