Default Too much camber

Setup

03
KWV3 w original springs (~515 f/r)
stock fsb/rsb
17x8 F, 17x9 R
BFG R1 225/255

F castor 6.45
camber -4.25!!!
toe 0

Without getting lost in the details, I have a track day in two days and won't be able to get the alignment adjusted. Is this camber going to quickly destroy the inside edge of the front tire?

I know camber is determined by testing with a pyrometer (which I do), I know this setup isn't ideal, I now ideal varies depending on setup/driving style... etc etc... but for this weekend it's what I'm stuck with.

Thanks

You'll heat cycle out the tires before you wear out the inside. Just corner hard....

Also, lots of tracks have trackside tire people. If you can get the fronts flipped inside out midway through the weekend, even better.

BTW, this is a prime reason to have a square setup. Ability to rotate tires almost pays for the cost of extra wheels.

Don't be so sure it's too much until you test it.

+1.

I switched to 225/45-17 R1s all around and thought -3.5deg in front was enough. Tire temps and wear pattern proved it was not.

I feel that with even -3 the front wears the inside quickly

Inside shoulder wear is more affected by toe than it is by camber.

It also depends on how much street driving the car will see. More street = more inside shoulder wear with high camber settings.

I have been running 4.5 deg front camber for about 4 years.
I have looked at my car in pics and the tires are flat when in turns.
