I just installed a Chase Race hitch and have 5 inch difference from trailer to hitch. Does anyone have a recommendation on the rise for the ball that I should purchase?

That all depends on the trailer and the rake of the car and such. Just use a tape measure and make your best guess. If you are really worried about it, buy the riser from a local shop that will let you easily return it.

Mike..thanks for the response! Should I target for the trailer riding level and if I cannot achieve that is it better to have the trailer slope towards the vehicle?"

Doug does not recommend having it level. Mine drops a couple of inches, and it's fine.

Probably better to have the trailer slope down in front just a bit. Helps keep the tongue weight a little more consistant as the car goes over bumps.

I think he's got one of the original Hammerly hitches. A version of those is now being made by Doug Chase. http://www.chaserace.com/
Correct Mike.
