You think that's anal? I heard from a guy this weekend that he changes his S's oil, tranny, and diff fluids every 3,000 I'm sure he's using syn oil as well

Yeah, they'll do that to you When in doubt about general maintenance of this car I tell myself that the lowest Japanese intern on the S2000 development team knows more than the best mechanic over here. There are millions of dollars of research and manpower that went into designing this car, most mechanics have 2 year tech degrees with extensive knowledge of the Ford Taurus

For those of you with dedicated track cars, what weight oil do you run?

I've been changing oil every 4 to 8 track days. Longer intervals in the spring and fall when it's less wickedly hot.

I normally use 10w30 but just realized this weekend that I accidentally put 5w30 in last month. I'll probably swap it out soon, but in theory it shouldn't be doing any harm. Castrol Syntec.
