track day apps

Harry's Lap Timer is probably the most commonly used and it does work well. It supports most tracks I have been to and you can add a track yourself. You can buy the basic version for timing laps, and then add features such a recording video and OBDII inputs. But I find the UI to be rather unintuitive.

As a newb, I'm not too concerned about video's etc... and was going to go with Harry's Lap Timer Rookie but I see that the "pro" version of Track Addict is the same price. Can someone comment on the ease of use for Track Addict?

Big fan of racecheono here on android. I have to mess with Harry’s on my father in laws iPhone cause he can’t do anything on phones and agree it’s interface and layout is goofy.

Just an update, for other first timers, I went to my first track day at the Ridge yesterday. I ended up downloading the Track Addict Pro app and it seems to do the trick for me. I considered Harry's but the Rookie edition was the same price as the Track Addict Pro (TAP) edition. The TAP edition allows for video recording but Harry's requires an upgrade for that feature. Time constraints probably won't allow me to track as often as I would like so I didn't think the additional features (whatever they may be) and cost for Harry's was worth it. If you want to try it out, Track Addict also has a free edition that only records 3 sessions.
Now to find a sturdy windshield mount for my iPhone 8+.

Ditto. I'm finding RC pretty good too. I wish it could download full res videos while still interacting with the rest of the app, but that's my only complaint. For recording, analysis, comparison of laps, etc., it's great.
