Default Track Exhaust

I need a new exhaust, one that is ~1-2db quieter than the Speed exhaust I currently have.

Requirements:

Light
Single
Not -too- expensive
Runs at less than 103db @ 100ft w/o cat.

Those are really similar to my requirements for a girlfriend! Well except the 103 dbs.

Do you like them louder?

It would depend on the situation wouldn't it?

We used a spugen ti can of a dual system and had a muffler shop do the piping to the cat flange. it was recorded at 89 db with a shift to 3rd and 92 db on the rev limiter in second. We still have the cat in place. Sound was taken at ~75 ft and the exhaust reduced weight compared to a stock vehicle by about 39 lbs as weighed on scca scales at the national tour in ft myers

Pete (Yellowstreak) had something custom made that was basically a testpipe with a skinny walker or dynomax muffler welded right after it with a turndown.... it was all under the car so maybe that helped muffle the sound?

I broke both a Veilside Ti and a Apex N1 due to them being junk and not liking 8000rpm driving all day......... I got past the 103db meters with both.... but i have no idea how much power i was giving up.

I would try the custom welded idea'r.

I used to see Supertrapp mufflers on race cars all the time - are they still considered track-worthy? Changing some disks to change sound volume sounds a lot easier than swapping out entire exhausts depending of venue... That and some custom piping should get you what you need assuming the reliability and power are there...

You can get something custom made with a turndown and a small high-flow muffler. The problem with "racing" exhausts is the giant megaphone of an exhaust tip they all have. If you can get something with the muffler further upstream and a nice turndown it should be a hell of a lot quieter than the commercial options.

Are you running a cat or test pipe? I know you don't want to hear this, but the J's Racing 60RS meets your requirements I think. It's full Titanium (10-15lbs I think), makes some power (5-10whp), isn't that loud, and costs about $1200 (alot to some, little to others) Besides the price possibly being an issue, the exhaust tip is ugly. Also check the T1R 63mm, it's half the price, but twice the weight.

It's against Rylan's religion to buy JDM products (besides the S itself)
