I am pulling the trans out of my 03 and installing one from a 06 with 18K miles on it. After I pull the old one I would like to rebuild it and make the swap again using the AP2 as a spare.

Does anyone know what should be beefed up so that I can get some miles out the trans before I do this again? I will probably spend more time driving it around town than the track but I have several autocross days penciled in as well as some longer tracks. I am mostly worried about the second gear syncros and the gear set but I know the input and output shafts may be an issue with slicks especially if I decide to go FI.
