Default Which tyres for rain day at the track

Hi,

i´m not into racing but i usually do some trackdays and run slick tyres. Problem is when it rains and you have done a long trip to the track and it rains that day.
What tyres do you use for wet track?

What street tires do you have?

Why not some RE71 or Hankook RS3 for dual duty?

I'd try Maxxis VR1. They're supposed to be on par with RS3s as far as grip is concerned, but with better response/stiffer sidewalls.

And, based on the tread pattern, I'd say they look like they'll be pretty decent in the rain.

I used R888's and they were great in the rain. I should say I used them as rain tires and they were great, I never ran them in the dry. If you can afford them the Hoosier rain tires can't be touched.

It would be a tyre to use only at track as for the road i run "stance specs"
I wouldnt want anything too much expensive as it´s rare to have rain in trackday season where i live. It would be a "backup" situation just not to loose the day if it happens (and it did happen twice already)
Toyo´s are very good tyres but very expensive.
Maxxis or hankooks i need to check prices and if i can get them.

Thanks for your replies!
