Upgrading to a BBK
After 5-years tracking my car, I'm seriously considering a BBK. I was able to live with pads and rotors lasting no more than four or five events, but I'm starting to have to replace the calipers that often as well, because the rubber around the piston keeps melting or getting brittle from heat stress and breaking off. And I do have air ducts.
It looks like Stoptech put a fair amount of testing and research into their kit, but there are others out there. It appears that Racing Brake is bringing a new product to market, and I see AP Racing online as well. I'm really not familiar with these products.
Which ones should I seriously consider? Price of rotors and availablity of a wide variety of brake pads is a plus. As is wheel clearance. I have the OZ Allegerita they sell on Tirerack for our car.
Would appreciate your experience or advise. Thanks!

You can't go wrong brembo/stoptech/ap. I would go with stoptech. I have Brembo right now, and the price of the rotors are almost twice as much as Stoptech. These 3 product are tested by racing team, racingbrake is still new and I have yet to see any racing team use them.
The pads cost on BBK are slightly higher, however it seems to last a little longer as well. With BBK and no ducting, my brake seems to last the entire session without fading.
One more thing to consider are wheel clearance. I have 17x9 40 offset ce28 and it clears with plenty of room.

I've been researching this recently as well, after I burned through a set of XP10s in two days.
I'm going to go with the 328mm stoptech kit. Seems to be the best combination of cost/quality/pad selection. And replacement rotors, hats, and caliper rebuild parts are readily available and not too expensive.
They also offer a nice rear kit if you chose to do that later.
Are you going to run ducting with the BBK?

You can't go wrong with the Stoptech kit. There's plenty of threads about them on here and an article on motoiq.com. The only question is wheel clearance. The only other kit I'd personally consider is one made by Performance Friction; I spoke to them at SEMA and their rep said they had a S2k application, but I have not actually seen one yet.

Do you really need to replace the caliper when the rubber boot rips? I just get the rebuild kit from an online Honda dealer. Others have said that it's okay if the rubber boot rips.
