Bringing this back from the dead...

So, is the manual referring to the frame or bumper support getting damaged while winching at a angle? Or is it that the stock tow hook can break and the car will loss control off the trailer?

I'm looking at adding a winch on my trailer and will buy a new aftermarket/race tow hook if the manual is referring to the hook breaking and not about the car chassis getting damaged while being winched.

I've had the pleasure of having my car winched on several trailers. I've used the OEM hook and it's fine. However if I was going to do this on a tow rig I'd get an aftermarket hook that clamps around the bumper beam and center it. The offset is a pain
