Hoosiers? Ive heard they are usually close to perfect. I dont think you can get away with it on street tires though. Its not uncommon for tire clag to cause vibrations after a track day for me either. But I can obviously just brush it off later.

I did have a spin on the tarmac at SOW. It just have had led to some imbalance. Im going to Chuckwalla in two weekends so ill see if I can even get up to speed and try to hone in on this issue (doubtful), but I suspect its wheel imbalance.

I have never balanced my wheels for track use. Wheels and tires have been RPF1, Rota Grid, CCWs. Tires have been everything from street tires to Hoosiers. Never had vibration issues up to 132mph. Maybe I've been lucky, who knows.

For me, its because we have a tire machine in the garage but no balancer. If you look at most tires, there will be a yellow or red not on the tire. They should be as close the valve stem as possible. We have been mounting tires this way for over three years now with no major vibration issues.

I always wondered what those were for. Interesting.

You may have different luck if you try it with the tire rack C3 wheels. Mine take a sh** ton of weight to balance.

If you have a vibration at 116 mph, that means you probably have a more minor vibration at 58 mph. Go 58 and see if you can feel it at all.

I do feel a slight vibration at 73, nothing before then. But I'll try your suggestion and pay closer attention.

Thanks for the tip.
