Default Wet track tyres

Hi All,

Im hoping someone maybe able to assist in selection of rims and tyres for use in the wet.

Im using an early s2000 for my track events and currently have staggered 17" rota fighter alloys with semi slick tyres on. Im looking for a second set of alloys to use wet tyres on but im not sure what size to go.

Am i right in thinking i Should i be looking to get thinner tyres to cut through the water in the wet than i do in the dry? If so i do still have the standard 16's that came with the car.

Does the the tyre wall size have much effect as i would be looking to have a bigger wall to compensate for the smaller rim so i dont have to adjust ride height etc while on track.

thanks for any positive feedback. I did use the search option but could not find much on the subject.

Cheers,
Andy

The R888s when used as rain only tires last forever and work really well but the ultimate rain tires are the Hoosiers. You don't need really wide rain tires so stock rims with stock tire size do fine in the wet.

The Bridgestone RE71R is phenomenal in the rain. I picked up a set for a wet weekend at chuckwalla and was very happy.
