I have been thinking about switching my stock pads out to some hawk hp+ on a scale of 1-10 how bad do they squeak?

I heard how everyone was crazy about the cobalt GT sports. Is there a bad which comes close to that one since its discontinued?

Im not in the U.S anyone know a good source for oem rotors?

I have hawk blues, and after I bedded the pads to the rotors I have hardly any squeaking...

I just changed back from Ferodo DS2500 to stock. Nice pads for street and autocross, except for the mass quantities of dust. No squealing, ever. I just got sick of my wheels being dirty 3 days after washing them. The stock pads work fine for autocross. The Ferodos were worn halfway down the wear indicator groove at 7500 miles. Seems like a short lifespan, probably explains the dust.

Here's a follow-up on the change to stock pads:

Still getting a fair amount of dust.

At a typical autocross event, the stock pads were fine. Easy to adjust to a little more pedal pressure. Even at a practice event where we took 12 runs over the course of 2 hours they were fine.

During fun runs where I was taking back to back runs on a course that ended with an ABS brake from 3rd gear down to about 15 MPH, I managed to get the brake pads literally smoking after 5-6 runs, at which point the brakes required a lot more pressure which made the car hard to drive.

I will probably put the Ferodo pads back on the car. Hopefully they will generate less heat, and certainly they will tolerate more heat.

Ok so I would like to know the above. I know that there are different classes but I'm not sure on the classes. My region has two classes street tire and race tire any other mods are allowed no penaltys. I'm looking for an effective brake pad which obviously does not need to be heated to perform in my 100 second sessions. Let me know please I've done research but still un sure.
allot of people like the oem pads and any blank rotor. Cheap and they work well.

ps- where do you live? I want to run on a 100 second course. We average about 40-48 here. Some times as low as 33.
