Ok, the reason I want to see everyones catch cans is to see how you have them ran and were you mounted them. Here is a diagram with lables 1-5. I'm going to try to explain the different set ups i've seen and hopefully you all can tell me which is right.

set up A) hose from 1-2 and from 3 to 5 then from 5 to 4

set up B) from 1-5 and 3-5 and block off 2 and 4.

set up C) from 1-5, block off 2 and 3-4

set up D) 1-5, 5-2 and 3-4

My input (I don't know much just what I read)-

Set up A) the set up most people use, Air comes from the intake pipe into the valve cover, gets pushed out the pcv valve and oil seperates from air in the catch can and the clean air goes back into the intake manifold.

Set up B) The crank pressure and blow by goes into the catch can were the oil settles in the bottom and the pressure goes out of the can through a blingish filter. While caping the intake hole and intake manifold hole. To me this is the ideal set up, you keep any hot air from the crank pressure from entering the manifold which would help lower air inlet temps. (not my much if any but idealisticly it would)

set up C) would just release crank pressure although wouldn't catch any blow by due to the fact blow by comes out of the pcv and goes into the manifold.

set up D) same as c

input and pictures of everyones set-ups would be nice

ps- I was gonna search the gallery for catch can set up pictures but search is down and I rather get the science behind this and not "because someone else did it."

I use an Ebay found Cusco Catch can that i got for $40 and bout a extra 3 foot hose a long with a L bracket. Easy install and reliable as in no melting of hoses like people say. I am N/A and mounted it to the air intake box close to the oil filter with plenty of clearence.

Tried the little air compressor filter, filled it up every autocross run. Now: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...&#entry14173304

Some courses I get nothing, other courses I get 1/2 a liter after 8 runs.
