Something nobody has mentioned yet but is really important is that in Auto-x there are rules about what kinds of mods you can have for your class. Well, the S only does well in one class unless you spend TONS of money and that's stock class.
Find out first if you get addicted to auto-x because a lot of people do. If you do get addicted and you already bought some illegal mods you'll be kicking yourself.
If you've had no experience driving at 10/10ths then save the mods for later because I'm sure the car is not the weak link in you quest for speed.
