just an fyi, trail braking is not needed to drift. all you need is a quick weight transfer to the outside tires in order for them to be asked for too much grip (so that they loose it). too rapid a steering input will do that, except that this usually results in understeer unless the car is set up correctly, so that's why trail braking is usually thought of as the "right" way to start a drift, because it helps counter the understeer by allowing the car to pivot more as it slides. from my limited experience doing this with our cars, the s2000 can do it without trail braking depending on speed.

but once a sliding rotation is started, using the throttle and steering to keep the car drifting is the biggest problem. sometimes it is intuitve...other times like when the camber changes on the road...it provides for interesting oh sh!t moments.

By drifting, I'm assuming that you mean the rear tires are actually sliding so you have to provide correction with the steering wheel. This is the faster way around a track only if the surface has a low coefficient of friction (ie, dirt, ice). This is why it is used in rally racing. On asphalt, you will be scrubbing off speed.

To drift, you need to trail brake into a corner to shift the car's weight forward. The next step is to apply enough throttle to break the rear tires loose. I have a couple of Best Motoring videos that show the s2k drifting. Next time I see you I can give you a copy. (I'd email them to you but they are 600MB each)
