Wheel Stud Damage?

The other part of it is metallurgy. The studs on anyone's car, assuming original, are 14+ years old. Bolts that are repeatedly tensioned stretch out over time. Stuff happens and studs can become stripped. For track cars, where the wheels are frequently on and off and they may be torqued on while the assembly is heated up, OEM ones are more likely to fail at some point than someone who replaces tires every 20k miles and never takes the wheels off in that time. The MSI studs are supposed to be really nice and I'm sure they're significantly stronger than stock. It's a potential failure point to be addressed.
For me, personally, I'm at 117k miles, have refreshed some bushings and a bunch of other stuff over the last two years. I may wait for wheel bearings to go bad or do them pre-emptively. While I have hubs off, I'd add in some extended studs instead of re-using old OEM ones. I'd like to have some on hand for whenever that day comes and the MSI ones seem to be the nicest choice available.
