I just bouncing ideas here... Anyway, I've been looking for decent rims for the S2k. There is a JDM BBS option for the S2K. Its about a half inch wider than stock, it has to have the right offset since its a factory option. I don't know the weight, but its forged so must be lighter. Anyway, the question is will you still be consider A-stock if you use these wheels?

The Honda Japan website shows them as the same width as stock.

If you are talking SCCA Solo II then no.

You can only use the same width/diameter. The only variation is off-set. You can be +/- 1/4" in offset.

I've been following the other thread. The JDM optional wheel at this point is the ONLY wheel option if it turns out to be the same width as US stock (6.5 front and 7.5 rear). I've looked into 3 piece custom wheels and basically it cannot be done.

Looks like we may have a stock-class legal option for wheels. If the information posted in the other thread is true... and they are supposed to be forged, and lighter than the U.S. wheels. I'm all over that! Can someone confirm that these wheels are legal for stock and lighter than U.S. wheels?

I believe that the JDM wheels would be legal for SCCA A Stock because it is a factory available option, with the same dimensions, although not necessarily in the U.S.

I had a conversation with Gary Thomason about these wheels months ago and I believe that he had looked into getting a set, but they were about $600-$800 each.

If you check out this thread: http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...p?threadid=2359 about midway through, Giampiero lists the JDM BBS's at $1640 per set. Maybe better with a group buy. That's not too much more expensive than the U.S. wheels, right? I'm following the thread, and I'll keep everyone posted. Could be good for all of us A-Stock people!

I'd be interested if they're significantly lighter. That's actually a lot more than I spent for a brand spanking new second set of stockers, but I have "connections"...

i think they are making all kinds of rule changes this year, but i would believe the JDM wheel would still fall under stock class.

The JDM BBS wheel would definitely still qualify for showroom stock, it's the same dimensions. I'm interested in a set myself. By the way to those who don't know yet, SCCA has moved the S2000 to B-stock starting year 2001.
