Default Who's broken their 04-05 rear diff?

Hey Everyone,

I've been hearing alot about the S2Ks having a weak rear diff, many 00-03 had issues with this. I know it all depends on the abuse on the car, but someone who tracks their car might be susceptible to this damage. I noticed the 04-05 also have the Clutch Slave Cylinder which eases the stress on the rear diff but I was thinking of removing the piece which causes the clutch to be feathered.

My main question is... Have any of you 04-05 broken your rear diff?

I heard they not only added the new Clutch Slave Cylinder but strengthened the rear diff to counter the problem. True or not??

All your comments will be greatly appreciated...

Thanks,
Ed

You'll feel sad, but also feel lighter from your smaller wallet.

Check back in '06. Even the 'weak' differentials last a couple years.

at our first T2 SCCA National race just a week and a half ago, the other S2K AP1 running in our class went out iwth a blown diff...he was already a lap down from us on sat's first race but in the sat evening practice he blew his diff and threw fluid all over our car...it was fun to wash off...we were right behind him when it happened.

we have an 04 and decided not to risk it and just go the upgraded comptech unit (sponsored though so didnt cost us anything except the core that we sent to them once we had the reinforced one installed)

and we already have lsd problems...like our lsd not working so were upgrading that to a kazz 1.5 way. our car has 8K miles on it driven by magazine editors and now a real race car driver lol.
