Default Yet another alignment question

Should I put on my race tires (V700) on stock wheels for my alignment or can I stick to my stock tires on stock wheels?

I don't think it makes a significant difference, but I'd like to hear others' views.

It shouldn't matter.

im going on tuesday for another alingment... ill have my RA-1s on just cause...

couple stupid quesitons
right now I have
camber 1.7 front 2.5 rear.... 0 toe up front, 0 in the rear, and not sure on the caster...

I want to keep the camber the same... 0 toe up front... but I want negative toe in the rear, how much in degrees? .5 1.0? and I want 6.5 degrees caster up front... is there a caster setting for the rear? and what should it be?

thanks in advanced

Alignments are measured off of the wheel...which if done properly, you are really measuring the alignment of the hub.

The only thing that would change the measured alignment significantly is if the corner weights of the car change appreciably. By this I mean if one of the tires is flat, your measured alignment would change. This is because the car will lean onto that side a little more, and compress the springs that little bit extra. This is why if you are picky, you sit in the car when the alignment is made...to account for the driver weight.

Since I have issues, I try to make time to sit in the car when the alignment is done, and have the track tires mounted at the pressures I run.

Caster can only be measured for wheels that turn. Rear wheels don't turn=no caster for the rear.

I use 1/3rd of a degree per side per UK spec. My car sees more road miles than track miles, so I don't go overboard when setting it up. The only thing I do like to do is make both sides exactly equal.

The tech that does my car bitches every time he sees me...but since he has a thing for that big-bottomed model Vida, I always print him a new picture of her and give it to him

Hey everyone is happy!
