Assuming the guy could launch. People always assume that the AWD cars are easy to launch. Not true. They are capable of great launches but it is not easy so to speak.

i broke my rear diff and transfer case in my awd talon when i was learning how to launch.... needless to say... i learned how by trial and error... and dont waste money on diffs and transfer cases anymore.

On a good launch... its over.

I remember racing an R32 in my AP1...It took me awhile before i pulled infront.
IT launched like a bat outta hell. R32's can launch quite well if done correctly.

Most R32 owners never get their cars out of the 14's or even the 15's because they don't know how to launch it -- and I think this is because most of them formerly owned FWD cars, and they're trying to drive it the same way. With the Haldex AWD system, you have to drop the clutch at 5500rpm or higher and avoid slipping the clutch, in order to get a good hard launch and not break things. Lots of these AWD noobs are revving to 3000rpm and slipping the clutch as if it was a GTI, and totally missing out on the AWD launch advantage.

A driver who knows what he's doing can get deep into the 13's with a stock R32, and high 12's with a lightly modded one. I've seen a bone stock R32 on stock tires manage a 13.4 -- and I've seen one with a chip, intake, exhaust, tires and suspension run a 12.9

When my Mk4 R32 was stock, my best was 13.89 @ 99.1mph... I'm not the best driver out there, but better than lots of R32ers. Currently with chip, intake, suspension, wheels/street tires I run the equivalent of a 13.2 (8.60 in the 1/8th at Qualcomm). I'd like to get back to Qualcomm with my drag radials and see if I can drop that a couple tenths.

But... yes, most R32 owners have no idea what they're doing in that car.
