Okay basically here's the deal, my cousin/coworker just got an 07 z4 and everyone is sayin he can take me easy with my ap1. As of now we don't have anything setup to test them but I'm curious just incase the opportunity comes to set something up. He has the 2007 z4 3.0 v6 automatic/semi-auto and I have an 00 ap1 with a k&n fipk, jic 63mm tp, and a 2.5" single exhaust, and an NX 75 wet shot. I know with the nitrous I'll walk all over him but he wouldn't want to play with me if i sprayed so lets leave the juice out of the equation. What do you guys think? Any one have, or played with a z4 before?

 

My brothers got an 07 3.0si, 255hp, 1 second fast than the s2k to 60, being the normal 3.0 you'd probably beat it.

I'm not sure what trim his is I wasn't even aware that they had different trims. What kind of z4s do they have?

 

The Z4 3.0si is the only '07 model with a 3 litre engine.
You also have the 2.0i and 2.5i, they're slow.

the 3.0si has 265bhp / 315nm/torque and goes to 60mph in just under 6 seconds (on paper).
I think it will be a very close race considering the z4 weights close to 2900 lbs.

In the Netherlands, maybe. Here in the US, there was a 215 hp 3.0i and a 255 hp 3.0si, both with 3.0 L motors. Since the OP lives in the US, those are the two possible cars he'll face. And I'd guess the co-worker has the 215 hp version, in which case the OP will wax him.

 

since the z4 is an auto, if you can launch better you will probably win

Probably a driver's race off the line until you hit close to 100. Then the Z4 will move ahead. Aerodynamics and lack of torque take their toll on us. If you are going to race to a high speed, put your top up. Practice your launches and let us know how it goes.
