My s2k mod list Bone stock except Apexi WS2 3" catback(in prep for turbo)
His S2k mod list Mugen Intake and Header, invida CBE.

So im driving around the other day and i see this dude in another s2k. I talk to him for a little bit and find out what all he has done. But all i have ever heard is that Those bolt ons only give minimal gains if any. So i wanted to see whats up. So we go to an empty strech of road and go from a dead stop. We race about 5 times and every time its the same outcome. I pull him almost a full car out of the hole. By the time we hit 3rd he is right beside me and by the time we hit 5th he is at least 2 cars ahead of me and pulling away. Its not driver error his car is just that much faster than mine. Is it just because of my 3" exaust? Or maybe because my engine has over 100K and his just 20K?

 

Just me but I think you need to put the stock exhaust back on and sell the 3". You might have had better luck with it on. But anyways... the other s2ki guys can help you with the other matters.

 

Since when is the APEXI WS2 3"? I always though the WS exhaust was supposed to be quiet? Modacar lists it as a 60mm piping with a 4 inch tip? Do you have custom piping or are you wrong about the size of the exhaust?

 

first of the all READ his post before posting yourself. the reason hes got 3in on it is because hes preparing for turbo.


to the OP:

sounds like that mods make no difference myth is getting smashed day after day. invidia is the top power producing dual exhaust and your 3in is killing you down low, but actually making power near peak. sounds like hes car is just making more power than yours.

 

but the WS2 is not 3 inch....

I know, that's why I asked him where he got that. If you look up the Apexi WS2, it is not a 3 Inch exhaust. It is meant to add mid-range power and be quiet, with chambered piping. Modacar lists the WS2 as a 60mm piping exhaust.

 

Probably his S2k is lightweight. and sometimes weight does matter.

 

maybe it's time to get a new one.
