A guy was driving the S55 pretty aggresively so I tried to time a light with him. I got lucky. The light turned red and we were beside each other. The guy didn't look over so I wasn't sure if he wanted to go or not so once the light turned green I didn't punch it. I just started off slowly and waited. Then I see him nailing it so I floored it. By the time I hit 120km he was about 2 cars ahead. We tried again at the next lights and that thing just walks away from the S right from the dig.

Fast cars for their size.

dang dude, I didnt think that they were much faster then the S. The S2000 is outclassed by a few things that the s55 has, mainly horsepower, but I thought they run about the same.

The big power is in the 03 S55. You can tell it by the four drain pipe-sized exhaust tips.

The 01 (and possibly 02) S55 had the old E55s 350hp, 390tq 5.5 NA V8. Good for mid-high 13s at 100+


The new S55 is NOT in the same class as the s2000. Its a legit 12 second car, at over 110mph.

 

these things have a big NA V8....about 350hp
you can pass em in lower gears, but they will catch up in the end

wow...that horse rating on the 03 seems high. Every other mag ive seen said 469 HP (same as E55 AMG)

Yes -- combination of power (HPand torque) plus low 0.27 Cd means that few cars on the road can stay with AMG through triple digit speeds. Too bad there are no autobahns here.
