Default 02 S vs HD?

I'm kind of embarrased about this but I get guys on Harleys ALL THE TIME revving up next to me at lights. I smoke them every time.

Is that even a close race? I feel like I'm picking a fight with the class wimp. I'm bone stock and the bikes range from Sportsters to Road Kings. Never raced a VROD (yet).

P/W ratio on non-Vrods is really bad correct?

My buddy has a modified '04 V-Rod w/NOS and I'm sure he'd kill me.

hd are great bikes but if there not moddified right they are kinda slow......they do sound good though! v-rods on the other hand are great bikes imo i would count them as a well deserved kill.

I didn't think an S would take a HD. I don't doubt you, just surprised. I only tried to hang with one bike, (I don't really know bikes these days), a Suzuki 600 I think. It was pretty ugly, but I didn't expect to take him, just thought I would see how bad it would be. I do get HD drivers reving at me sometimes. Maybe I will take one up on their offer some day.

They're not bad from a stop, but on a roll they're actually really slow.. I pulled one in my old E36 M3 when a guy who was tailgating me tried to pass.. He had the jump but I quickly evened the gap and pulled away from him... When I had my modded 00 GT mustang, I used to beat up on my buddy on his 95 Kawasaki 600.. From a stop it was no contest as he'd just leave me behind, but on the highway when aerodynamics came into play I could pull past him easily after about 120... I'd always see him flying up behind be trying to get ahead, then I gun it, he'd pass me, but after I hit 4th gear his pull would stop, and I'd start to gain it back and pull him.. I think he was jetted wrong or something though..

My dads got the 100th aniversary Road King Classic, i dont really think it has any balls, I'd probably take him and i'm not a great driver. His previous bike, Springer Soft tail, he had a hypercharger, cams, exhaust, and some other shit done to it, now that was a faily quick bike right there sounded great as well, but he sold for something more rideable on longer trips (and yes he does regret it lol)

I've always heard that 99% of HD riders are laid back cool people but it seems like lately I've pulled up next to some of that 1% Hells-Angels types. One guy on a Fatboy looked like Jesse the Body and yelled something derogatory about Hondas, then proceeded to rev his un-mufflered v-twin to about 130dB . He takes off at green and I pass him by the time i was coming out of 2nd. It wasn't even a race and the guy turned off at next light....probably embarassed. (??) So now louder = better

I guess I'm just ticked off because more than a few times I've been "labeled" by Harley guys.

If I was driving a full size Chevy and wearing a black t-shirt would I get the comments? Don't think so.
If a good percentage of S drivers removed (or functionally modified) their mufflers upon delivery would we be ticketed? I think so.

sorry, just venting

I don't think I've met one laid back Harley guy.. My brother's a Harley guy, and he's definitely not laid back.. Don't get me wrong, he likes to party and enjoys the "alternative lifestyle", but he'll tell you straight to your face if he doesn't like you and he isn't afraid to brawl at the touch of a hat.. All of his friends are loud and obnoxious, and even a bit off-putting.. Too much testostorone in that "tough guy" image I guess.. Not my cup of tea, but he's my bro so what can you do??
