I have a feeling that these guys that you say you are pulling on are just getting you going and not really trying...
^^^ I guess that is the definitive answer I was looking for. My old boss has a Road King Classic that had a modified engine and titatnium-add ons to lose weight and he claimed 1/4 mi times around 13. He told me a brand new "off-the-lot" Road King could really be dog though, due to the weight.
Maybe the "Jesse the Body" ringer on the fatboy(above) wasn't into racing...just revving.

I ran with a Buell and a Suzuki Road bike the other day... don't know what kind exactly... but they defenitely weren't crotch rockets...
They actually helped me get from Ann Arbor to Livonia (a typical 34 minute drive) in about 15!!!
Open roads at 8pm on a Sunday night... we would do runs from about 80 to 135 when roads would clear... from 80 to about 110... they would edge me slightly (with them in the lead... me tailing)... but after 110... I'd start to real him in quick enough to the point of letting off of the gas...

A new harley sportster 1200 (stock) can run mid 13's at 95mph in the quarter mile. Most owners change the exhaust, air filter, and re-jet the carb. This should get the bike in the low 13's. The bigger harleys are slower.
