Default 03 Evolution vs. 03 S2000

I buddy of mine stoped by the other day with one of his co-workers that owns a 2003 S2000. The guy seemed pretty cool but didn't know too much about cars which I found out when he said "Is that your Evo" I said yes, he replies"I just smoked one of those last week". I usually have a good head and try not to trash talk anyone elses car but this guy thought his S2k was the fastest thing on the road. So I asked him what is done to your S2k and he says I have Spoon headers and a AEM intake. So he says so how fast are those Evo's? I said they run low to mid 13's stock. I go on to tell him that mine has a 3" turbo back exhaust, mbc, S-afcII, and a rmr intake and runs 12.5@108 all day long. He totally does not beleive me and challenges me to a race. Me and my buddy are laughing inside, having previously owned a 02 S2000 I knew I was going to kill this guy. To make things a little more equal my buddy rides in my car to watch. So we lined up at a intersection with no one around and agreed we would go on 3 honks and race to 100mph. I hold the throttle at 6k and at the 3rd honk dump the clutch letting all four tires spin off the line, shift into 2nd, shift into 3rd and my buddy starts laughing his a$$ off in the passenger seat looking back watching the S2k fall further back. By the end of the race I must have a couple bus lengths on this guy. The look on his face was priceless, nothing like putting a trach talker on his a$$.

I don't see how either cars should be drag raced. Both are AMAZING handling automobiles with no pretensions for straight line racing. Leave it to the V8 RWD Domestics IMO

You are right an AWD, turbo, 4 door compact sedan has no business running a 1/4 mile. Especially at 12.5@108...

Good Kill!

Everything can be drag raced.

Was Porsche built for rally(dirt) racing? Are there any vehicles especially made for snow racing??

90% of the automobiles can be raced in any way, which makes motorsports fun. There are different categories that you can apply to. I have great fun racing my s2000 at the drag strip. You might have terrific time auto-X'ing yours. Main Idea is to have FUN.

p.s.: I have a lot of fun when Domestic owners come to my car and ask me" Isn't that a 4 banger????" After I popped my hood most of them give me props. I go check out their rides too. If you are a CARGUY, anything that goes fast deserves some respect.
Matt.

um, the evo is one of the best handling cars ever built, it's track times swallow just about anything including the S, nice kill on the trash talker! I'm not one to drag race, but this is a good excuse.

Yeah he deserved it, but you better not bring that smack to my neighborhood. My wicked little S2k hybrid owns all but the most dedicated of track cars. Muhahahahahahahahaha

I have to say though I do love those EVOs it's like the STi except it handles nimble more like the S2, whereas the STi feels fat. Pretty tough car to drift though. But, then again who can argue with all that power straight from the factory and easy headroom for improvement.
