Default 03 GT Vs. 05 S2000...video.

Wasup guys, well, I didn't really see any good vids on this site so I thought I'd join to post 2 vids of my race vs an 05 s2000.

First of all, both cars are bone stock, I have welded in flowmaster mufflers and that actually takes away some low-end grunt. We both had 1 passenger, however I have the Mach 1000 system in my car that has 2 10inch subs and 6 amps, so that's another 100 lbs.

The first race is from 20mph in first gear, it's pretty even until I shift to third which he begins to pull on me, but as soon as I shift into fourth at the 0:17 marker I immediately start to pull past him however we ran out of space before I could pass it.

This race is from 75mph in third gear, again, he pulls on me in third but as soon as I shift to fourth I start to pull and at the end you see I pull past him.

I really wanna see how I'll do with the system out, since 100lbs in a race this close wil play a big difference.

I really want to race it from a dig once I learn how to launch properly with my car. I assume I'll get the jump but by third we'll be even passing the 1/4(hence almost identical 1/4 time & trap).

Good runs, sorry to say this, you might not believe but you are racing a driver who is not shifting right.

It might be as simple as shifting before the blinker ever comes on, but I consistantly pull 1-2 cars on GT's

Dont worry man, everyone here thinks all S2000's should beat all stock GT's... So when the results are different it's hard for them to believe it even when they see it.. In fact I used to have a nicely modded GT (LT's, x-pipe, magnapacks, 3.73's, MAF, pulley's, etc.). I went up against a modded S2000 and posted a poll before the race. The majority thought I would lose, but I spanked him pretty hard...

Nothing not believeable about it. Given equal drivers, however, the outcome would be different. What you said about pulling once you hit 4th is pretty much the exact opposite of what "should" happen. Having raced more GT's than I can count when stock, including several races to 120+ mph, the S2000 top end is too much for a stock GT.

I remember settling an argument like this a couple years ago on this forum. There was that guy with the GT from chicago, and he met up with me at GLD. We ran about 15 times and he came back on and admitted, the S2000 pulls all day long. He said it had gotten to the point that at the 1/8th mile mark he was looking for something to throw out the window at me, because all he could do was watch me walk by. The only chance a stock GT had was from a launch. (given equal drivers) Then afterwards on some freeway runs, the same results were accomplished.

and cravnpup, any person who thinks an even lightly modded S2000 can take a GT with 3.73 gears alone is in for an awakening.... not to mention all the other mods you had.

Yeah, that was back in the day when S2000 mania was causing some wishful thinking.. People like you and I who've been around the block a few times have since been able to inject a dose of reality into these forums.. When did you become a Mod?? I remember when you first started posting here...
