Don't hate, you'll get smoked by the E too..

He might, but I raced one last night and took it badly. Some guy pimp-driving in Mom's (I can't afford an S500 so I bought this) E350. I dumped the clutch at 6500 and c-ya. There was a Silverado SS that put up more of a fight than the uber-turd trying to catch up, but same results. No offense to the guy that owns one here, it's actually nice for what it is..... a nice luxury sedan with modest acceleration. Just ranting because the guy I raced was being a chode.

Mike:

It's not the base model. It also has the EXACT same motor that the SLK350 has which trap 101-103 and has THE SAME transmission and gear ratio. The base model is the "C" class and for that matter the C350 Sport is the SAME motor as the SLK350 and E350 (for that matter ANY V6 MB sell in 06). It is "even" FASTER than the E350...less weight. But hey, what do I know...I only own both.

FOR GOD SAKES go drive it. It's real simple. Drive to MB, ask for the keys, push the c/s button to "S", hit the shift lever to the left and MASH the gas pedal to the floor.

THEN tell us how the "non" base 06 E350 is slow.

I OWN BOTH and WHY WOULD I LIE???? The S2000 is faster. But "NOT" by as much as you would think. From a roll the S2000 is beatable if the driver doesn't know what he is doing and has the car below 6100 rpms when he starts.

THIS...is what happened in S4's story. I am covinced of this ...WHY????.....because I OWN BOTH.

I am talking from experiance not MAG RACING.

I don't take ANY offense....this is the internet. I am just trying to pass on my experiance.

The S500 is NOT the MB to own. It's would be EVEN SLOWER as it is a BOAT. The reason I didn't purchase it was that is was bigger than my wife would drive.

The one I would drive as a sporty relitavily cheap sedan would be the C350 with the 6 speed manual. This car flys for what it is. I would argue it would beat the S2000 (as an example) more times than it looses with the average driver.

The C55 AMG is the steal at 55K for a sports sedan....jm2c

The E500 (same motor as S500) weights less, but the acceleration is not fast enough for the extra $$$ and the interior is THE SAME. The E350 is a steal for the present lease deals. The 4-Matic (while heavier) has a better gear ratio and launches better than the E350 "non" AWD.

MY POINT TO ALL IS.....GO DRIVE THE E350 it will only cost you 2 hours and a few smiles.

brushman, I believe you. You don't need to try and convert these pinheads. Benz motors are often underrated.

Remember the old E430 with 275 hp that ran 14.5 @99?

You say in one of your other pointless threads, when questioned as to why you post your garbage here, that you like our car (S2000)... yet you stay stuff like this to s2000 owners in this forum.

Go away. Contrary to what you might think, nobody cares about your rental or who you have raced in it. How many threads have you started like this ? I think like five or six. Maybe instead of spending all this time posting your trash here, you could spend it working or doing something productive. Then maybe you can afford to have a nice car of your own, instead of someone elses.
Look at my sig before you blabber your mouth.

Vladimir L,

I've been here a lot longer than you have and posted a lot more than you have in the past 5 years. Never once have I ever had a thread locked.

Personally, I've always disliked Mercedes. I've always been a sports car fan and still am. However, driving this boat around has made me re-think my perspective on MB. Honestly, all of the threads I've posted regarding E 350 kills was done with extreme sarcasm, and yes... they are also authentic, I don't need to BS about this car; I don't care enough to do so.

Cool. I have to argue for the S500 though. Talk about a nice ride. A good friend of mine owns one, and it is very, very smooth. I also have 4.57 gears, so that is why I smoked that particular MB that badly. How do you like yours by the way? Satisfied with MB thus far?

Why is this so hard to believe? A more powerful sedan will pull on an S2000 if the S is not optimally driven. Much like the E350, an Acura TL will do the same thing. If the S is not in the correct gear, the TL will pull away.

Its not....the new Avalon with the 3.5 traps a 99 or 100 I think. Thats just an Avalon too. There are a lot of sedans out there who will run with or away from a stock or mildly modded S. The S needs to be driven hard and skillfully to get the most out of it too.

just post a 1/4 mile time and speed that shows its low 14 car, and we'll all shut up. so far the 14.7 time is way of my 13.97 pass in my stock 02 s2k.
