^^^ nope! My roomate had a 08 nismo 350z and I had a 03 DE 350z and I would race him almost every single day.... Every shift we caught back up to each other's bumper. I did have an hks exhaust on my car though... But for sure for sure the HR's are not gonna pull the de's like you guys claim... Hell my buddies 08 nismo HR Z was neck and neck with my S2k when I first bought it... I'm sure he woulda pulled me had we gone over 120 or so but...Sad to say, either your cars need maintenance or you guys need the driver mod lmfao!
07-08 HR is on par/better than an E46 M3.
Your friend with the HR needed a driver mod bad.

Plus I've owned a 350z and driven my buddies Nismo HR quite a bit we were roomates after all. They're not god's chariots lmao! There definitely about the same speed as a S2K.

dont race from a dig? slow to 60 because we have to wait for vtec? lolwut?
AP1s 0-60 was 5.5, AP2 0-60 was like 6.2 because they have to shift into 3rd. vtec has nothing to do with it.
Why wouldn't we want to race from a dig? Weight matters MORE the slower your going, the faster you go, the more the horsepower matters and weight doesnt. If you buy an s2k to race from a 60mph roll your gonna be upset with the results. I dont launch my car, but I set up "5mph rolls" with friends all the time because I know thats where I'll get them, I can pull them to 100 and shut down before they have a chance to catch up. Mind you its better for me with my 4.77s.
I recently raced an HR from like a 20mph roll. I could have been in first, but I stayed in 2nd @ about 4500rpms, I was infront of him by a decent bit until about 80 and we were neck and neck, I let off at 100, and he was probably going 105 or so and about 2 cars ahead of me. If I had started in first, I might have been able to hold him off for a bit longer, but the shift also might have fawked me.

So not much of a difference between base and nismo. Fair enough. However you weren't kidding about weight fluctuations.
I bet thats where all the ambiguity comes from with all these stories. A properly driven s2k vs a base model HR will get ripped a new one (I know from personal experience) however if that same s2k was to go up against a fully loaded Grand Touring model that weighs 3600lbs I wouldn't doubt that the results would be much different.
300 lbs is a lot of extra weight, can you imagine what a 2450-2500lb s2k would do in a straight line?

never lost to a z car had one mess with me a while back 370z convertible beat him he got angry after went around me on the right side of the highway spit rocks all over me and the new corvette in front of me who proceeded to chase him wasn't that guys day
