Default 2001 AP1 vs 2005 AP2

So me and my buddy gutted the airboxes in the cars last night and decided to go test out the sound (sounds nice, but not too loud)

We went from a 40 roll with me starting ahead about half a car to be able to judge the pull. His car would pull me hard but his shift points just kept letting me catch right back up and pull on him until his gear advantage was better.

Sorry no video, but just imagine this is the race:

2nd gear: he pulls ahead until he has to shift and then i pull back even
3rd gear: he pulls ahead again until he shifts and then i actually pull ahead a bit
4th gear: he pulls ahead again until he shifts and then i pull wayyyyyyyy ahead and we stopped.

Nope it's stock.

All my buddy has done to his S is exhaust.

I will be sneakin a test pipe on it to see how that helps.

Not going to mod the s2000 much. It's pretty much going to stay with stockish parts.

I don't need to prove anything with it. It keeps up with stuff just fine. The airbox gutting helped throttle response but that's about it, no power or anything out of it, and it sounds nice in vtec.

Mostly that's obvious stuff

yes i plugged the hole.

I cut a square out of the center piece that was gutted and epoxied it over the hole and then filled in the gaps with epoxy.

Stock filter for now, i think i'll order a k and n drop in for it.

anyone know of another that wil fit just fine?

What size does the filter outlet have to be to slide into the stock intake tube? like 3 or 3.5" ?

Because i'm too lazy to go check the size.
