Default 335i VS ALL

was thinking for a long time if i should post this.
so a friend of mine gets a black 07 335i sedan automatic (black and stock.)

335i vs GS350 awd (k&n cold air)
Three dig races, the Gs lost by 5+ car lengths every time. (at 75mph ish)

335i vs 03 g35 coupe (manual, injen cai, test pipes)
the 335i won 3 races (2digs, 1 roll) and won by 5+ car lengths. (at 75mph ish)
the 335i lets g35 a head start from a dig about 3 seconds and the 335i couldn't catch but was about 2 cars behind hanging

335i vs MY03 s2000 (stock, second week getting his car after an 06 Si)
Three 30 roll races. First two the 335i flew by in second gear, and beating him by about 3.5 - 4 lengths.
Last one the 335i gives the s2000 a head start about 2 seconds, the 335i flys by when the s2000 shifts into 4th --- pulling 3 cars immediately. (335i 3rd gear is )

335i vs evo8 (full piping with de-cat. intake, headers, bov, coils and Afc.)
Two dig races. the 335i starts to pull 4-4.5 cars from second gear . [til`about 90-100ish ]

335i vs 03 wrx wagon(vf34 turbo, 271 dynoed whp, exhaust, downpipe, bov. bad driver with silencer on )
Two roll races. the first one the 335i pulls 4 cars easy end of 2nd gear.(he says he didn't redline either) . second one the wrx misshifts and its over.

335i vs ME. (MY01 ARC intake, spoon n1 exhaust, work emotion 17", kwv2 coils. and no test pipe yet, still stock CAT.)
Four 30 Roll races. s2000 sitting at 6.5k rpms.
race 1 the 335i pulled almost 2.5 cars by 4th gear. (100mph+)
race 2 the 335i pulled 2 cars.
race 3 i went WOT pretty hard off the honks. jumped hard and pulled about 2.5 cars by the end of 2nd gear. 3rd he starts to pull slowly, and coout ntinues to pull in 4th gear until i hit around 7,000 rpms i stop his pull. (its weak under there in 4th without gears!) the road gets bumpy then he brakes, leaving me almost a car length ahead.
race 4 the 335i pulled about 1.5 cars on me.

fyi, we are all friends here.
the 335i is advertised at 300 base horsepower.
the 335i dynos at 275-280 to the wheels, making it NOT 300 bhp.
this thing is pretty much a monster.

i will run him again when i get my J`s headers, test pipe, and a tune.

good runs.

the only run i can comment on is with the Evo. i had a IX which with turbo back exhaust, boost controller and tune makes what pre-05 Evo VIIIs make with those mods plus cams...

my IX with those mods had around 330whp, and from 2nd -top of 4th gear i'd stay right next to a back then PROcede v 1.47 6spd 335i sedan. there's a thread on this somewhere on e90post if you care about it lol.

after the guy got v2 though my Evo could only hang from 2nd to top of 3rd, after that he'll pull 2 cars easy by 125mph.

never tried from a dig, but his friend's Evo IX would jump 2 cars on him from a dig, so my old Evo vs. a v1.47 335i would result in the 335i not catching me till 125mph+, and v2 guessing the 335i would zoom by at around 110mph

sorry it's late can't sleep so i'm blabbering lawl

335i is quick, but if he destroyed Evo (4.5 cars to a 90-100 is huge) from a dig my guess is that the 335i was at least chipped

stock for stock a 335i won't really start walking the Evo VIII until 60mph, and an Evo IX until 80mph. this is talking about a rollin' start...from a dig if the Evo driver can launch a stock 335i won't catch it until or past the 1/4 mark..

well..... i'm 99.9% sure the 335i is bone stock. he is a close friend of mine
and by the way, if you ever driven a new 3 series, any new 3 series, the automatic version WILL NOT let you spin your tires off the line. even if your traction control is off, and you slam the gas pedal-- the 3 series does not spin the rears at ALL it feels like a bogg`d engagement and it starts to haul .

yes i was surprised with all the results also.
i am as amazed as you all are.

very few 8's have dipped into 12's stock but most with competent drivers on good tracks can run mid to low 13's.

but yeah if the Evo can't launch then the outcome is completely believable. the Evo is basically playing catch up at a game that belongs to the 335i from the get-go...and that is in no way an easy feat. the Evo would need significantly more WHP to reel in and pass the 335i once the 335i starts moving.

another thing is the 335i's gearings are crazy long vs. that of the Evo's...shift time = time wasted in acceleration no matter how fast a human being can shift.

im calling that until further proof. Your friend walks an 03 then an evo with more mods than you and he beats you by two lengths? Your mods yield little to no power as compared to an evo that responds ALOT better to minor mods than an S. The first three cars have similar weights and HP ratings. It's bs he's walking them.
