my dad owns an 03 350z and its automatic. he's been talkin a lot of you know what lately about his car being much faster than mine is. i have a MY02 s2000. i was wondering how much slower would the 350z's auto transmission make it compared to the manual one. i'm pretty sure that i'd be able to take my dad. but i was wondering what you guys thought? maybe i'm wrong?

btw i'd feel bad if i left my dad in the dust since he does still pay my insurance. but thats what he gets for talkin all that smack

 

You should beat him 1-2-3 cars up to 100 mph. Depending on how good of a driver you are.

 

Tell him I'll run him for $100. I'll beat him for you. I'm completely stock.

 

One more thing, It's not a good idea to race your dad.

andersayz, you should be able to take him.

 

just wanna let you know, in acceleration the auto Z is ALMOST EXACTLY as fast as the manual. There has been a 13.6 or 13.7 recorded for a stock auto already, and thats rite on par with the fastest manual 350z stock. the autos, if driven and launched properly will probably beat the manual 8/10 times in the quarter since its so much easier to drive.... my auto is running 13.7-13.8 every run i do at the drag strip since its so consistant. run your dad best outa 5 or something and see what happens, honestly I think youll be VERY surprised.
