350Z vs S2000: Argument Answered... and...
No more This proves once and for all... it is a drivers race.
Trust me... I WAS THERE!
Here's the full write up:
The Build Up...
As I promised... myself and 3fiddyz set out to settle the rivalry and constant bickering once and for all...
Tonight... we raced...
but with a Twist... We had svtmach1 (jsep productions www.jsept.tv) there to film the whole thing
The setting:
Aaron- 3fiddyz: 2003 FairladyZ with plenum and intake- slight advantage- BUT... advantage neutralized with 200lbs Camera man
Joe- Joeking1978: 2002 Suzuka blue S2000- Stock! (with 18" SSR GT1's)
(the races are being edited by Jeff for entertainment value... and he will post them tonight)

Interesting... but kinda wierd as my experience has always been that the Z pulls better off the line and the S pulls better from a roll. I hear that Plennums will sometimes take away from low end but make up for it at high end<< not sure how true that really is... but I was expecting the exact oposite result. Nice video

Actually, I thought the S2000 from a roll was a dog. I thought all the fast 0-60 times were done by clutch dropping in VTEC range. Correct me if I am wrong...

Otherwise... the 5.8's that you see are from a less aggressive start.
launching the way I did... I can hang with any mustang gt, z, etc off the line...
which goes to explain the controversy about who is faster... from a dig... the S is... if you know how to drive it!

I was supposed to come down this weekend... but got a family reunion slammed on me... (my mother didn't tell me until last weekend )
The weekend after that is a wedding... and then I think I'm free again for the Sept. 5th weekend...

I believe the best S2000 mag time was 5.2sec 0-60.
From a roll it depends on how fast you are talking.
If it's from 5mph the engine will only be at 1500-2000 rpm so it's not good. C&D does a "street start" that's 5-60mph this eliminates good launch conditions like a 6000 rpm clutch drop. I think the S2000 does 5-60mph in 6.2 or 6.4 sec. I think the 350Z is closer to 5.7sec almost as good as it's 0-60 start.
