Well after getting kicked out of a race spot here in Fl by 5-0 I decided to call it a night esp since i got work at 8 in the morning. SO i decide to take a lil short cut home. I encounter many racers but im not feeling the vibe so i just cruise along UNTIL... I see a 06 STi with the paper tag still . So im like hey is a good time to test out my new exhaust. So i take off and pop Vtec but he doesnt bite. So im like oh well and go about my way, untill i see him get into my lane to get onto i-75. So im like YES finally a good race for me tonight. So when the light goes green i take off not to fast because its a sharp left, but as the road straightens out i go WOT and so does the STi, i pull a good few lenghts on him thru the lil corners before the highway. Im smiling ear to ear now. So a few miles later a Cobra come and downshifts right next to my door. It had to be modded i heard it over my exhaust and radio. So i play ball and downshift and so does the STi. Three honks and the S is off like a bat outta hell. I pull a lenght and a half on the cobra and the STi was nowhere to be found. So after a another mile or so the STi pulls up again and downshifts, i take the bait and downshift. Then we take off once again i put one lenght on the STi and hold that length till 125ish, keep in mind i do have the top down. Poor STi he thought he was gonna get a easy kill on the Honda . Put him and the Ford in there place. Another kill for the AP1 My mods are AEM V2 intake and a Megan Exhaust and RS*R springs.

 

When I first read this thread, I thought BS at first because I thought you raced one of the newer Cobra's with the 390 HP engines, but you raced the older ones with like 300 HP. Nice kill, and those STI's are not as fast as people think they are. There has been a thread or two about people beating STI's. One of my friends have a 2006 STI and i'm bound to race him sooner or later, but he thinks I can beat him with the 2007 S2000. Haha...

 

bs? no way u kiilled them like that or at all... u have exhaust and intake -- a what 15whp gain if that?? so ur at like 220whp? vs sti and cobra?

 

The STI and Cobra are alot heavier, I believe the S pulled on both of them.

 

last time i race a s2k with i/e I was even from roll, even with the s2k getting the a big jump. on a roll. from a dig lauch was not even close.

Having owned both an STi, and an s/c s2k, honestly without some form of FI an s2k isn't going to pull an STi at any speed.
