Today I bumped into a fellow S2KI'er and had a couple of friendly runs.
My car: 2001 w/comptech intake, exhaust, testpipe and 4.57 gears.
His car: 2002 I believe he was completely stock.

We didn't do many runs, but when we did I only pulled slightly on him. With my mods I should be able to pull a little better than what I did. Shifting seemed to own us both at different times, but it seemed like I pulled about a car from 30 to 100. Hopefully he'll chime in here and give his point of view. If he does respond, I'm gonna try to get him to run me up at a local 1/8 mile track. Anyways, not much for reading entertainment, but had fun meeting another S enthusiast. Looks like I was owned by the driver mod.

What exactly is it that you are wondering?

 

with an 01 you should really look into a tune or a 02-03 ECU

but yea i think you should have pulled more.......were you bangin the gears good?

 

No, I wasn't shifting all that fast. I've never ran it down a strip to improve launching or shifting, so I'm probably not all that great. The other guy said he ran a 13.9 stock in his car, which isn't bad at all. Would I see much improvement with an 02-03 ECU?

 

still not conviced 4.57's are worth more than 250 bucks.
