if you are fat and the other driver was skinny, then there you go!

if you;re fat losing weight is your greatest weight reduction mod you can do!

if ur not fat then idunno.

i weigh a whopping 135lbs. i can hang with ap2s pretty well.

we could go back and forth bickering all day.

After owning two AP2s and running a number of ap1s, as well as being behind the wheel. I have to concur that the ap2 is indeed faster.

Also given the multitude of dynos its painfully obvious that the 2.2 makes more power throughout the entire powerband vs ap1. Stock vs stock.

Now in the case of the OP. I would have to say that the 2.2 is not ALOT faster. Its not a total stompdown. The most i have pulled on ap1s is 1.5 cars. The one you ran was most likely modded if you got stomped pretty bad. If you got walked then he was probably mostly stock.

assuming its +10whp for a 2.2 vs 2.0, which is reasonable
the typical 50 lbs weight advantage an ap1 has is about 3whp in power to weight. (yeah its sometimes -100lbs not -50 but its not always just +10whp either)

7whp is effectively the advantage, or about 3% P/W. wow...

a catback+test pipe does more, gearing does more (and that may *slightly* help a stock ap2 but whatever), shifting does more, weight of the driver+gas tank can do more, tires/launch do much more from a dig, a reflash does more, heck maybe which way the wind blows even does more....

I can help clear things up on the matter, just need two gears to row through. You can pick which ones.

If he had gears then you wouldve probably won, at high speeds that gears are actually a disadvantage. I pulled on an ap1 with 4.77s vs my stock ap1 from 70-120 by about a car. But from 0-70 he will take me by about 2-3 cars. Either way I have an ap1 but im not in denial that ap2's ARE faster.
