I was coming home from dropping off my friend in Temecula and heading south towards San Diego just minding my own business, going the speed limit. The top was up. I'm in the lane next to the slow lane. I didn't even notice but a 'older' looking BMW 335 convertible had been right next to me egging me on to race. He was in my blind spot so it took me a short while to figure out what was going on. Anyways, I slow down a bit to see what I was up against and sure enough it was a 335. There was 2 passengers. Younger looking people. I'm at 65mph in 5th and I drop it to 3rd right about 6k. He punches it and I follow suit. redlined 4th and he has about a 1/2 car lead. hit 4th and I didn't gain anything on him. Grab 5th gear and he pulled another 3/4 - 1 car. I shut down at about 105mph and I was behind by about 1 1/2 cars maybe. I know those cars are upwards of 4100lbs and he had 2 other passengers. I was top up and no passengers.

Yeah I know. Probably would have been more interesting if we did a dig or 2nd gear roll.

A higher FD gear will hurt your top speed potential....actually you will have a lower top speed, but acceleration will be nice for sure.

 

4th gear with 4.77's is weird. Maybe it's just me being weird but it seems that 4th gear takes forever! LOL. But yeah top speed is down to 143 on 4.77's but I never take it that fast. Acceleration is awesome.

 

This sorta blows. That girly mobile of a BMW has more balls then our S2000's.

 

yeah but that girly-mobile has a twin turbo I-6 w/300hp and 300lb.ft.

 

Pretty quick girly mobile.
