Here's another. I don't think he missed a shift.

lol @ S2000 owners thinking the S2000 should be faster every time.
2ZZ + I /H/E/Reflash = 100+ mph traps.
That means a Celica GT-S /Corolla XRS with just an intake, race header,
and reflash might walk your stock S2000 from a roll. These cars are approaching 200whp and are lighter than the S2000.

I didn't say that the s2000 is faster every time. In fact i know that they are not that fast. This is exactly like the debate about the RSX-S. All i was saying is that the first vid does kind of look like he took a long time on that shift. I personally really like the 2ZZ as well.

[QUOTE]This is what it is. Any S2000 owner losing to a Corolla should just sell their S and buy a Civic to learn how to drive on. The XRS only weighs a bit less than an S2000 but is WAY down on power, even with I/H/E. With I/H/E it would only be putting down around 150-160 whp.
lol...the damn 2zz cars(7thgen GTS celica, 9th gen Corolla XRS...ect) pick up like 10-15whp on a dyno from just an intake...they will go from high 150-low 160whp to like low to mid 170whp w/ just the intake...I'm not ****** kidding either; ive seen it w/ my own eyes, in person; on several dyno's w/ different cars...and there gearing is fine...its just that there stock powerband/lift engagement point is too high to easily land lift in the GTS celica w/ the 8300rpm redline, and impossible to land it in a un-tuned corolla XRS/celica GTS w/ 7900rpm redline...
they dont really get to 200whp w/ just I/Ported header/E/tune...more like mid 180-190ish whp...but what really improves is there powerband and there ability to stay in power the entire race...
also the GTS is ~2550lbs, and the corolla XRS is ~2650lbs...ie lighter than a S2000...and there stock gearing is more aggressive than the S2000...
most I/H/E/TUNE GTS/XRS's will go into the low low 14's to high 13's in the 1/4 mile...
and I'm sure most of those vids are from magnusownz...he's a pretty well known vid guy online...he races and records quite a bit...

lol oh ok. well when i had the xrs it was under my dad's name so no mods for me. Completely stock, plus it was an 05 when they added the smog pump. Would have preferred an 03
edit: sorry saw that you had a Matrix XRS...yeah the best year was the 03 for that 2zz car...
and a funny fact....the 6spd manu. GTS(8300redline) was capable of low low 15's to high 14's stock... whereas the 4spd auto GTS's w/ the same power(180hp) only ran low 17's in the 1/4...they are actually slower/dead even w/ stock auto GT celica's of the same generation that have 40hp less
I wish we got those gains from bolt-ons, but our engine is just properly tuned from the factory.
It's all about staying in lift with those cars, moreso than staying in VTEC with an S2000. They're absolute dogs below lift. IIRC, the 02 GT-S has the lowered rev limiter so it's impossible to land lift after a shift.
Incredibly underrated by car enthusiasts. The steering feel, seats, and handling (especially for a 2500ish lb car) are pretty shitty. Typical late 90s-present Toyota North America garbage.
