Default AP1 VS. G35 Sedan

So it's a beautiful day out here in sunny Southern California, and I'm happily crusing along with the top down and a beautiful woman in my passenger seat. All of a sudden, I look into my rearview mirror and see some guy in a blue Infiniti sedan driving like a madman on this long 2 lane road. From the way he was driving, I knew he was gonna split the lane and cut me off, within moments he proved me right. It ruined my mood and I began to think to myself "This M*$*#(%)#$", so I pull up right behind his bumper at the red light (there were a couple cars in front of us). As I look closer, seems he has 2 people in the backseat as well. Should be easy.

The light turns green, and I can see by the way he's hugging the tail of the car in front of him, he's going to switch lanes and try to take off...I see this and proceed to switch lanes a couple of seconds after him. He gets a slight headstart, about 2 1/2 cars. I ring out second and make up about 1/2 a car, then shift to 3rd, I start catching up to his bumper faster and a second after I shift to 4th, I have to let off for about two seconds or else I would've hit his bumper. As soon as the left lane opens up I switch lanes and jump back on the gas, where I proceed to put a few more lengths on him up to about 110 where we both let off.

I slow down a little for him to catch up, but he slows down the more I slow down and keeps the same distance between us . This car looked a little faster than a G35coupe that I raced a few months ago, especially considering he had 3 or 4 people in the car, I was somewhat impressed. I'm wondering if he had any mods or if it was the newer model sedan (I can't tell the difference). I think I could've beaten him worse if I didn't keep my tire pressure so low, as I'm rolling on 28-30psi cold. Anyways, maybe he'll watch who he cuts off from now on.

Cliffnotes: G35 gets a headstart of a few cars, at his bumper by the end of 3rd, switch lanes then proceed to put a few lenghts on him til 110.

Was it an older sedan, or the new G35 sedan? The new sedan's are running 13.7's and trapping as high as 103 mph. The older ones are around 14.3-14.4ish trapping between 97-99 mph. (260hp vs 306)

That's what I was wondering, whether it was the new one or old one (they look really similar to me). I wasn't paying too much attention to the car, I was too pissed at the driver for cutting me off like that.

Btw, didn't the old ones have 280 and manually equipped G's with 300? I think the 260hp VQ was in the maxima.

Automatic sedans were 260 for the first couple years of production.

Didn't really see his brakes just the taillamp shape, he jammed on his brakes before hitting the stopped car in front of him, then let off the brakes. I'm usually pretty good at telling model years, but I was just too into the moment to pay attention the tiny differences between model years. It's bothering me now, because if this truly was the 260hp version, my car must have low compression and bent valves (sarcasm). Honestly, by the way he sorta held his ground, I speculate (and hope)it's a later model year G35.

Dude, just boost and be done with it. Pretty much all new sports sedans are as fast or faster than a stock S2000.

You shouldn't have taken the bait and spent the time concentrating on your fine woman.

Or at least post pictures of your fine woman so we can concentrate on her while you stew over guessing his model year....

I really want to boost, a vortech looks very promising right about now.

, I was done "concentrating" on her...I was on my way to drop her home .
