So Im cruising at around 65mph on the freeway lastnight, and a sooped up lowered G35 with exhaust paces me. We gunned it at the same time, I dropped it down to 3rd, and was able to keep up with him into the top of 4th, but at the end of 4th, he pulled on me so hard. I shut down at 130mph and he was well over 5 cars ahead of me and still pulling! I can tell it was a manual. All I heard was his exhaust, dunno what else he had. Based on what I heard, I dont think he was turbo or S/C. But damn, I thought they weren't THAT fast on the freeways. I think the manual editions come with more power than the other models, especially when u mod them.

 

I've taken 2 manual g35 coupes by a couple carlengths but I lost to a moded auto and a moded manual sedan... I guess they respond well to mods..

 

thats odd that you post this. i had an encounter with a G35 coupe 3 nights ago but just didnt post it. the difference was i easily walked him, not the other way around. we did 3 runs, one from 90 where i easily pulled 4-5 cars and wouldve made it worse but just didnt feel like going that high of a speed for so long, one from 65 where i got 2 cars by the end of 4th and HE WENT FIRST, and then one from a stop where he was turning right and i followed him, he gunned it first and then i went around him before i even topped out 3rd! i talked to the guy and he told me it was stock, from the sound of it i think it was an auto.

 

Your S with 500 whp easily beat Nismo RS 350z by 5-7 car lengths. You should've gotten at least 20 car lengths on the piggy G

ya that could have been him, if it was a red one. Maybe my G35 encounter was turbo or something and I maybe didnt hear it.

That's not my experience. S2k ~= 350Z and the G35 is heavier than the Z.
