And to show how much quicker the S2000 is in my experiences, look at this video of me in my G35 (same one as the other vid) vs another board members S2000. His S has I/E which is still basically what we still consider stock, so it's a pretty good compairison...

met up with my cousin just now to do a couple runs...for some reason i kept missing third gear ...but anyway didny really get a chance to roll from first gear so we went from second around 40mph. This was a clean run and we started pretty much dead on at the same time i immediately jumped to about a fender and he was at the tip of the front of my door about and up to 105 when we let off he was at the side of my door bout half a car back...pretty much dead even. Couple other runs he would get a slight jump he would stay there with no one really gaining or pulling. He did tell me though that i was ever so slightly pulling in third gear on our cleanest run. Honestly i thought i woulda pulled a lil more but i guess im happy. I have i/e/vafc...my cousins is a 03 6 spd jus has a z tube and pop charger i think its called. Hes beaten a couple Z's so maybe his cars a freak?

im pretty sure the 350z/g35 vs s2000 races are pretty much based on the driver. Sometimes they pull, sometimes we pull.

our cars are pretty much about the same in stock form. as for you modded people out there, thats a different story.

Mine is completely stock. I fully expected him to beat me, but I decided to go for it anyway. Much to my suprise, I walked past him. He was on the gas too because I could hear his exhaust over my car. It sounded like it was a manual tranny too. My mother has a Z Roadster and after driving it quite a few times, I feel my S is noticably faster.
The Roadster is way heavier than the coupe, Also i think it is slightly heavier than the G35 as well.

This thread is hilarious. A G will not keep up with a stock s until about 60-65. After that the G WILL pull. I have owned both and often raced against the S in my G and raced against Gs when I had my S.

By default the traction control is turned on in a G. With this enabled, you can not spin the tires into 2nd or 3rd and it greatly reduces ability to accelerate in 1st. If the G owner is not paying attention or doesn't bother to disable it, you would crush them in a stock s2k.

The automatic G has an average of about 20whp less then a stick. That will make a big difference when you race one.

There are different engines being used depending on the year. The non rev-up will be about equal with an s overall (drivers race) and the "rev-up" motor will beat an s.

A G35 responds VERY well to intake mods and ok to exhaust mods. I think it is much easier to mod the G35 and for a lot less $$.

The G35 weighs A LOT so the acceleration kindda sucks. Thank God it has some tq to make up for it. The higher the speed you start the roll from the worse the S will do. The lower......the better.

To the s2000 owners who are F/I and racing a stock G and winning.....damn....I hope so.

To me this is not a one car being better than the other because I owned and loved both. Just giving some facts.

You know what's hilarious? What I just quoted.

Someone needs to tell all the G35's that they should be winning past 60 when a Z won't even pull until past 100mph.

yea what on earth would I possibly know about either car??? You sir know all and the s2000 shall never lose to anything. I'll be sure to notify "all of the g35s" that there is no way to possibly keep up with you until 100mph so this way they can stay out of your way from now on. I guess I should tell the Z owners as well since you mentioned it? Of course you are more than welcome to post your theory in a g35 or z forum to see what they think of it.
Hey, thanks for putting words in my mouth. It is clear that you don't intend on using fact to defend your position, and would rather seem like a jackass. Have at it, I won't stop you.
