So heres my story...

last night i got off work at 11pm and got into town at 12am yes i work an hour away from home, so i just got into town and i saw a clean white subie pulling out onto main st. (which i was on) i couldnt tell if it was a wrx or an impreza. I could tell he was waiting for me due to his slow speed on main, i had to make a left at the light and he was headed straight so i thought oh well maybe another day. As i continued home i made another left and in my rear view i saw him turning with me i thought wow this guy turned around just to run me... so i continued home and pulled into my driveway and was going to get out and talk to him but he didnt stop he slowed down then peeled away he went to the end of my street and turned left which happens to be a dead end. so now i was ticked off that he would follow me home for nothing so i backed up and headed to see what his deal was maybe he wanted to do some bad things to my s2k by then he had made a u turn and was headed out i gave him a few flashes and it looked like he was pulling over so i tried to pull next to him on the driver side then he peeled off again
so i followed flashing my highs at him and he finally pulled over i asked what the F man do i know you? by then i was real P.O. he says i just wanted to see if you wanted to run. i replied well you should have stopped. so we went to a long empty back road.. i thought dam im going to loose oh by the way he said his ride is a stock WRX which i thought were pertty quick, so we line up and he gives me the ol 3 honks and were off he pulled about half a car on the launch which i thought was weird (him being AWD and all) so as i climb to 9k i start to pull him in then 2nd comes my tires loose traction and i go a lil side ways but re gain quick then i pull hard by 3rd i can see both of his headlights in my rear view im thinking wow that turned out diffrent then what i thought would happen!! then he pulls up next to me and says nice run and burns on out.. by the way my s2k is stock the only thing i have is a pro kit. and that was my first time runing form a dig.
am i wrong when i assumed he would beat me? any opinions?

 

Properly driven, you should have no problem betting a stock WRX.

Anyways yeah an s2k will easily pull a WRX, especially from a roll. From a dig its a bit harder due to the AWD. Alot of people here say theyve kept up with evo's and sti's whenever they race from a roll.

 

i was not expecting to do so well out of a dig... oh well ill take it

 

Not bad especially considering you're at altitude... Then again stock rex's are nothing to write home about..

 

good run. stock vs stock i can see the s winning. i ran a wrx lastyear with just a few mods and he smoked me lol. and that was with my gears tp and cold air.
