The VR-4 always have the VR-4 badge I think and are extremely rare these days at least from my experience. They also cost a lot more than the other models and seem to be getting a bit of a collectible status. If it's not the VR-4 its a pig

I pulled a couple of VR4's in my AP1 on the roll. Not bus lengths but enough. Maybe they leak boost when they get old? Never ran one from a stop.

My father-in-law had a rare (at least in USA) Galant VR4. That was a very cool sleeper and NICE to drive!

It went up in smoke in a Car-B-Que some years ago (leaking tranny fluid IIRC) but it was so rare he had to fight the insurance company over its value and no replacements were available.

Heavy pig at 300/320hp makes a good s2k race.

On the older VR-4s before they got the BIG spoilers, you can tell them apart by the spoiler.

VR-4's have the light bar right under the spoiler, because they have active aero.

Non-turbos have a fixed spoiler, and the middle support will be just a small piece of plastic/fiberglass instead of a light bar.

Yes, a VR-4 will easily pull on a s2k... I have one =)

Yeah, the plain 3000 and the sl models are pigs. The VR-4 though with twin turbo, awd and 6-speed is a completely different story.
the VR4 is just as much a pig as the base model and SL - its quicker/faster only b/c of its more potent powerplant. in fact i'm not even sure that the base model and the SL had AWD like the VR4 did, so they might both actually be lighter than the VR4. regardless, the VR4 certainly wasn't quicker than the base model and SL due to being lighter simply b/c it isn't lighter.

OP, nice kill.

Edmunds talks about the 1999 model here -- http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drive...articleId=44178

0-60 in 5.4
1/4 in 14 flat at 105 MPH

Makes it exactly a driver's race versus a stock one, doesn't it?
