Your a fool the rotary motor is pretty amazing thing expecially since it has 2 stroke exhaust pulses.. (Can you say BIG HOTSIDE?
)
)not to mention, the RX7 that was towed in on sat, it will be getting at 4th, yes 4th engine.
its a amazing that 1.3L can suck more gas than most 4L+ V8's, while at the same time delivering sub par performance, and while remaining to be a joke of reliability, offering "worse than Honda tq" and sounding like a Hoover Vac or a leaf blower.
the rotory engine is a good concept. its just not a good engine for a street car. the 787B was the best example of a sucessful rotory. in a racing application is where the wankel belongs. its junk in a street car, and you'll never convince that its not. i see examples of it everyday, and RX8 sales have more or less proved the point.
the rotory is an answer to a question nobody asked. piston engines will always be more powerful, more torquey, more reliable, more daily driveable then rotors. always.

1. Retarded shops working on them
2. Retarded owners
1% is it a failure relating to flaw in the car and usually this flaw is inner coolant seals from after market companies in my case. I personally love the rotary the plate design of the motor makes it very unlikely to blow apart with major cash expenses. Also, The fact that it sucks gas is related more to its 2 stroke nature then the need for cooling. I give you 2 stroke piston motors for example. I think your argument in terms of power is pretty useless and talking about TQ in a S2000 forum makes it all seem a bit laughable. The Rx8's that I have seen suffer from trying to be modern instead of just doing stuff the right way for a rotary. There is a burden that goes along with being a Rx7 owner in terms of being an everyday car. Now, that being said the same is true of many great cars such as the Porsche 911 or Older Muscle cars.

I missed this thread reply so let me respond now. 99% of all failure I see on rotaries are because of
